Hey guys! Today I’m doing a little Christmas home tour, and sharing some of my décor with you! I’ve been in the festive mood for quite some time now, like even before Thanksgiving this year, which is not usual for me but I’m okay with it. I blame having a baby. ;) He just makes me want to do all of the fun and festive things!
I mean, look how fascinated he is by the tree! He just loves the lights and the shiny and glittery ornaments. It’s pretty magical!

My motto is always moderation is key. Therefore, when I am at home I try to eat as healthy as possible even during the holidays, with maybe a few cheats here and there. But while at friends or families gatherings and parties I plan to indulge, while controlling the portions. I can enjoy indulging more if I have smaller portions rather than going overboard on everything.

I am very consistent with my nutrition during the week and and less strict on the weekends. I look at the holidays in the same light and just enjoy the time with friends and family. I usually opt for the yummy food and skip the alcohol!
Michelle
I try to eat healthy year round, but I also allow for indulgences in moderation. For me personally, being too restrictive takes a lot of fun out of it. I try to fill up on healthier stuff first and then allow myself a treat.
Amanda
I’m planning on making apple chips that are super healthy (it is just apples) and still satisfy my sweet tooth
Ashley @ My Food N Fitness Diaries
I plan on indulging and living in the moment! Of course I balance it with veggies, fruits, and other healthy foods, but I don’t deprive myself during the holiday season.

I don’t have too much of a plan except for eating (and drinking) everything in moderation! :)
Tina
Oh my god that last photo! Loooove
Pamela
I will def pay attention to how much I am eating! Portion control! Even though it can be hard this time of year!
Liberty T.
I made sure that I stocked up on healthy foods at Costco because if I have them in the house I am much more likely to eat my fruit and veggies. I have never tried Quest Bars but I have heard so many great things about them!

Eating healthy around the holidays is always a challenge for me. There is always so many yummy treats to eat! This year I plan on not over doing it, drinking lots of water, and having healthy snacks in my purse/diaper bag. I love me some sugar cookies, but I don’t need to eat 3 at a time!
Natalie @ Never Serious Blog
Oh man, eating healthy during the holidays is HARD. I try to not restrict myself too much, and to “make up for it” by staying fit and exercising. I just hate to say not to festive holiday treats, and just try to get a little taste of everything as a opposed to a SLICE of everything!
Chelsea @ Raw N' Toned
Well we spend the first half of the day at my house, so I have all the healthy snacks I need right there, and it helps that most the food that everyone brings has either dairy or gluten in it { I’m allergic to both }, so I don’t want any of it. But the one thing I do want is dessert!!! dairy or gluten, it is the thing I’m will and want to eat no matter what. And I plan on having that :) But I have been keeping with me lara bars, nuts { mixed with coconut flakes and enjoy life chips }, and quest bars for the crazy holiday hours I have been working.

I’ve been eating a lot of junk during finals so I am starting whole 30 midweek, I’ve had enough holiday foods and am ready to start clean eating sooner rather than later!
Maggie
I try to bring a healthified side dish! Or I try to make sure I eat normal before a holiday party so I don’t over indulge!
Jackie
I think indulging a bit is ok but in moderation. My plan is continue running when I can and having something to eat before heading to a fathering.
Jackie
Sorry I meant gathering!

I plan on keeping cut up baby carrots with me or always available, I could smack on them with ranch or hummus all day long. But I love Christmas treats so I’m going to definitely live in the moment but remember to keep working out :)
Shannon
I definitely plan on indulging & living in the moment- because peppermint hot chocolates & festive cookies are one of the best parts about the holidays ;)
Lisa @ Life as Lisa Knows It
I am going to eat desserts in moderation, while making sure to eat lots of veggies throughout the week as well.
megan w.
I try to keep lots of fruit around so I can grab that when I want something sweet!
Liz
Just trying to keep everything in moderation!

I always volunteer to bring healthy, veggie-heavy side dishes to holiday meals and parties. I also make sure to keep my regular fitness routine and drink lots of water and tea.
destiny
I try and make lower fat versions of our favorite foods and not overindulge.
jodi
Your home looks gorgeous, I love all the stockings.

I always like to keep a nutrition bar close by (Larabars, Kind bars, Quest, you name it!) However, I love me some spinach dip and my mimosas as much as the next gal. I definitely lean towards my indulgent side.

I plan on doing a mix of indulging and bringing my own food
Liz
I try to eat healthy snacks like carrots or fruit, but on the actual holidays, I don’t really pay attention. =)
Jill
Everything in moderation – I’ll indulge on one or two snacks a day, but make sure I don’t end up eating an entire plateful of goodies.
Ashley @ Saving Money in your Twenties
ooooh love these giveaways!!! I try to eat healthier by watching portions (and number of cookies). I hate that feeling of “ughhhhh i’m stuffed and now feel sick” that is easy to get around the holidays!
Lauren
I plan on making some TIU-approved veggie side dishes for Christmas, that way I can still enjoy some of the goodies but without the guilt! :) I’m also keeping up on my workouts, so that keeps me motivated. I don’t want to lose my workout momentum during the holidays ;)
Thanks for the fun giveaways! :)

My husband and I have decided to limit our sweets/desserts intake to one per day. That way, we’re still enjoying the holidays and partaking in delicious treats but not going overboard.

Baby carrots, cucumber and apple slices have been my best friends for snacking! :)

I am not planning on eating super healthy over the holidays, because I’ll be with family who cook amazing foods! ;) But I will definitely try to cut back on the AMOUNT of what I eat, and only eat when I’m hungry, instead of chowing down whenever!

Thankfully my son is not big on sweets so we will have more veggies then anything for the holidays.
