Well, Ollie boy is officially ONE! He is such a little joy. So easygoing, but also never ever stops moving! He loves to crawl (really really fast lol) and at 13 months (his age at the time of this post) he has taken a few steps too!
His little vocabulary is expanding daily it seems! I just love hearing his words. Having a nonverbal kiddo, it’s the reassurance I need and every word makes me so happy to hear! He says Dada, Mama, Bubba, na-nigh (night night), baby, and moo. Sophie was watching Dora and Dora asked the tv “what’s your name?” and we SWEAR Ollie said, “Ah-ver” haha! It was so clear!
He blows kisses, claps his hands, waves hi and bye, touches his head when we say, “touch your head!”, and just started to point too! He loves reading books and playing peek a boo! He also loves going through the kitchen cabinets and playing with tupperware and basically getting into anything he probably shouldn’t. :) And he loooves being outside and exploring nature!
PLAY
Our play kitchen is a top favorite toy he plays with all the time! He also has a few baby dolls that he loves to kiss and feed a bottle (this one is great and he loves to put the paci on the mouth). He loves rolling a ball back and forth, and has a blast when he gets to be on the trampoline (ie when his older siblings are NOT around haha). He loves putting things away, and is always putting blocks back in the basket and things like that. So cute! He loves wooden blocks, these soft blocks, stacking cups, his activity cube, shape sorter, and this puzzle! I’ve been singing the clean up song when he does and he loves it! This is something I’m definitely fostering a love for, ha! ;) He also looooves our water table and splashing in any water in general! And this rocking horse is a hit too.
SCHEDULE
He gets 2 naps a day still- one morning and one afternoon. I make sure his morning nap doesn’t go past noon (and will wake him if he’s still snoozing) so that he still gets his afternoon nap (and we don’t let him sleep past 4 to not interfere with bedtime)! We have been very blessed by a baby who loves to sleep, and sleeps well! I know not all do. Sam was our difficult sleeper, so we’ve been there!

MILK TRANSITION AND FOOD
We officially have transitioned to milk (we did a gradual transition, after weaning from breastfeeding he was still getting bottles of formula, so we did over the course of about a week: a bottle with 4 oz formula/2 oz milk for a couple days, then 3 oz of each, then 2 oz formula/4 oz milk and finally all milk). No problems either! Boy loves his bottles, and eating in general lol.
He will eat whatever we are eating, for the most part! We do a more baby-led weaning approach, with small pieces of finger foods, and will mix in some baby food. We LOVE Amara for their food! He especially loves the berry oatmeal and raspberry sweet potato! He loves beans, rice, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, apple sauce, oatmeal, pasta (all kinds lol), peanut butter sandwich, snap pea crisps, goldfish… I’m telling you, he just really likes to EAT. ha!
He is definitely in a stage that demands a LOT of attention, since he is putting everything in his mouth and also getting into everything- it’s a lot but also SO MUCH FUN. I cannot stress that enough. He is a JOY. It also helps that he’s the third baby, since birth this whole experience has been so much calmer and just more enjoyable, mostly because we know how quickly it all goes by, and this baby stage is already moving into toddlerhood, and goodness, my HEART. But thankfully, it keeps getting better and each stage brings a whole new array of fun and adventures, so I’m not too upset. ;)
