In my quest to become the perfect wife (yeah, right) I have begun cooking more. Anyone who knows me knows that this is a big deal. I’m the girl who burns toast on a regular basis, and whose husband replied with “quesadilla” when asked what his favorite food is that I make. No joke. Needless to say, I’m not exactly miss Susie Homemaker, which is something I’m trying to improve upon. Baby steps. In my efforts to do so, I have been on the lookout for new, easy and delicious meals for Zack and me (that are healthy, too, of course). So when I heard about Kraft Recipe Makers, I was definitely intrigued. All you do is add the two sauce packets to your own ingredients and you have an easy meal. Right up my alley. I shopped at Safeway and found them on a little shelf display right by the refrigerated meat coolers in the meat department. I then bought my ingredients and was on my way to a delicious home-cooked meal!
I chose the Tex Mex Chicken Fajita mix (but there are 7 other flavors to choose), and bought a red onion, some bell peppers and boneless skinless chicken breasts to complete my meal. I simmered the chicken, after cutting it into strips, added the simmer sauce, and once cooked, threw in the onion, bell peppers and salsa. I then poured it over brown rice, and voila! Dinner was served and it was delicious! Zack even complemented me. ;)
Not only are Kraft Recipe Makers super easy to cook with, they are also delicious! I am so impressed with the ease of the dish and with how great it turned out! I will definitely be picking up more of these when I don’t want to have to think too much about my meal. I love that it can make anyone (even me!) look like they know what they’re doing in the kitchen. Hopefully Zack won’t mind less quesadillas from here on out.
Would you consider yourself a pro in the kitchen, or could you use some help?

I really like making anything. I love cooking! I need help coming up with ideas for dinner, I don’t have a problem actually making things, and because I eat Paleo, it tends to make it a little harder to come up with things to make lol but the boyfriend and I manage, we kind of work together on it :)
Zack and I cook together a lot, too!! It’s just more fun that way :)

That looks delicious! You go, Katie Homemaker!
You know, I would really love to learn to cook. I am sure a future husband would probably appreciate that lol. But there is something about cooking raw meat, especially chicken, that makes me want to gag. Oh well, I can always make vegetarian dishes.
hehe Katie Homemaker! LOVE it! I reallyyyyy don’t like cooking raw meat, I’m right there with you. It’s gross. But the end result is so tasty, so. There’s that.
