This weekend consisted of…
A trip to IKEA, to get a much-needed back-up stuffed kitty cat for Sophie. You always hear about the importance of back-ups, and I’m kind of really glad that Sophie’s favorite toy just happens to be a $7 IKEA doll. ;) Makes it realllll easy to get back-ups! Seriously, though, her attachment to this cat is the cutest thing ever. Sam never got attached to anything, mostly because I was paranoid to ever put a blanket/toy/anything in his crib with him because everything I read scared me away from it (spoiler alert: don’t read!!!), so it’s really fun seeing Sophie and her love for her kitty. :)
We also picked up a cute wooden dollhouse for her, which I built that night, with those ridiculous IKEA instructions. You know the ones: with zero words, all pictures and super confusing directions?? Yeah. Let’s just say, it took a lotttt of concentration, but I’m proud to say, I DID IT!!! Go me! There is a definitely level of accomplishment that I felt after that, thankyouverymuch.
Excuse me as I take a second to bask in said accomplishment.
Okay.
In case you were wondering, I’ll just be dressing them to match from here on out…
Church was awesome! Just what I needed to hear (don’t you love when that happens?!), about showing love and being gracious in all circumstances. So good. ALSO, both of the kids had such a good time in their classes! We couldn’t be more thrilled with our move of churches. This one has been the perfect fit for us!! Just goes to show you: change is GOOD and important in growth.
Speaking of…
Body Back has challenged me to clean up my eating! Here’s a little look at my meal prep for the week! Salads in jars, filled with dressing (olive oil + balsamic vinegar + s + p), chickpeas, quinoa, hard boiled eggs, dried cranberries, sunflower seeds, and then I’ll add the spinach/arugula/kale when I’m ready to eat so it doesn’t get soggy. I also prepped some oats in a jar (so many recipes to be found online! I even have one I shared here!), and then some extra quinoa, hard boiled eggs and broccoli for random meals the rest of the week!
So, I follow Tone It Up and have the nutrition plan (which I love and has taught me so much about eating well!) and have always eaten healthy and clean, for the most part, but there were some definite areas that needed some help. Being in a group of other women, all holding each other accountable, I think is the key!!! Accountability is such a huge factor in my staying on track, and not snacking too much after dinner or eating 20 dark chocolate covered pretzels (OMG why are they so good, though?!?!). So yeah. It’s been such a good thing for me, and I’m really excited for the next 7 weeks of this program!
So! Here’s to health and happiness! May you have an abundance of both this week! :)

Katie
