Hey guys, so I thought I should give a little update here on my eye situation, as I shared in this post that I thought that I had a migraine. Well, I was wrong, BUT the support and well wishes were overwhelming!!! I sympathize so much with each of you who shared with me how you suffer from migraines and I can’t imagine that pain- NO fun. Thank you for sharing your tips and amazing advice!
Now, on to my own situation. Before Saturday (when I thought I was having a migraine), my eye had been red and irritated for about a week. Of course, I carried on, thinking it would go away on it’s own. Then Saturday hit, and I had dizziness and severe sensitivity to light and I was convinced I was having a migraine, minus the headache. Turns out, I was wrong. Which I’m actually of course relieved about, because migraines suck and nobody wants to have to deal with those. So I went to my eye doctor yesterday and found out the irritability and redness and light sensitivity and everything? It’s all because of a couple of corneal abrasions. AKA little scratches on my eye.
I know. Ouch. It hurts, just like you would think it does. NO FUN.
But also, totally curable, and thank GOD I did the smart thing and went to my optometrist! So he prescribed me some eye drops and everything should be healed within a few days to a week.
HALLELUUUUJAH.
In the meantime, I’ve been doing the awesome glasses with sunglasses on top look. These sunnies are my fave, because you can’t even tell. ;) I think it’s time I get myself some prescription sunglasses… hmmm…
SO! My lesson has been learned. Do not put anything medically-related to the side. If you think something is wrong, get it checked out. Be on top of your own health. Nobody else will be.
…Well, except for all of my loved ones who are looking out for me and kept nagging me to see a doctor. ;) BUT. Only YOU can make that decision. And hey, better safe than sorry, right?
So I guess I’m writing this to remind myself in the future and always, to be proactive and to not let things get worse and worse, because who knows when it’ll be too late. And if you have something you’ve been putting off, I urge you to just DO it, whatever it may be.
I’m fairly convinced you’ll be happy you did. :)

That sounds really painful. Eye injuries just make me cringe. So glad you are doing better!!
Katie
Right?! Notttttt fun. It’s actually less painful and more just debilitating and hyper sensitive. I don’t know. It’s crazy!! Here’s to NEVER feeling this again!

Ugh, that happened to my eyes once and it was the WORST! Haven’t slept in my contacts since… I actually thought I might be going blind or something. The sensitivity to light was insane. Glad you’re on the mend!
Katie
YES, right?! So so soooo insane. Like, something I’d never experienced ever and hopefully never will again! It’s nice to know I’m not alone, though. :)

I have to tell you I get chronic migraines (I am on preventative meds and I get Botox shots every 30 days all over my head and neck) so I know a LOT about them and I read your symptoms and thought…uh…never heard of that. I’m SO glad you got it checked out. You must have been miserable. I’m Also glad you are still migraine free, too!
Katie
I am so sorry that you get chronic migraines- that is just AWFUL. Yeah, I had a feeling it probably wasn’t a migraine… I’m really glad I got it checked out too! Thanks for your kind words!

Warby Parker has fabulous and affordable options for prescription sunglasses. I got my first pair last year and it was one of the best and most practical decisions I’ve made!
Katie
Funny you mention that- I just ordered some warby parker glasses and I also have a home try-on box of sunglasses on the way as we speak!! :) LOVE their frames! Happy to hear you love your glasses from them!

SO glad you are feeling better Katie! May I ask what size you got in the Old Navy White Jeans and the Old Navy black leggings from the previous post? Do they run TTS? Thank you!!!
Katie
Thanks Hannah!!! :) I am too! It’s such a relief! As for the clothes: I sized down in the jeans (they are very stretchy and stretch out a bit with wear, so definitely size one size down!) and got a small in the leggings (they’re true to size! Keep in mind, they’re compression leggings, so they are tight and super stretchy, but that’s how they’re supposed to be). Hope that helps!
