SOPHIE AT 7 MONTHS OLD

Our girl is 7 months old! Well, okay, so I’m a week late.. buuuut better late than never? ;)

This girl! At 7 months…

Her favorite people are mama, daddy and big brother. Daddy gets the most giggles- all he has to do is make silly faces and she’s done for- and she laughed so hard for the longest time last week! A little video clip from that:

Her stranger anxiety is getting better. She still prefers us but will allow others to hold her- only once she’s warmed up to them of course. And still, the shelf life is limited before she needs to return to one of us.

She sits up perfectly now and can stay there for a longgggg time without toppling over! And not to mention she has the best posture while doing so.

She is moving now!!! Ahhhh!! She gets in a plank position and pushes herself backward! She also rolls over and over and over- no more placing her in one spot and knowing she’ll stay there… And she is now getting on her hands and knees and swaying… eeeek any day now and she’ll be crawling!

She had been sleeping through the night, but that lasted a few days and now she’s back to waking once a night. Which, hey, I’ll still take. That nice long stretch is much needed and makes such a huge difference. I’m a much nicer person when I get some sleep. ;)

Sample schedule at 7 months:

7:00 wake up and eat
8:15 nap
9:30 wake and eat
11:00 nap
12:00 wake and eat
1:30 nap
2:30 wake and eat
4:00 nap
5:00 wake and nurse and have solids at dinner with us (so far loving carrots, bananas, crackers (we just give her Ritz, they dissolve really easily and she can chew them with her teeth too) and apple sauce!)
6:30 bath (only some nights)
7:00 start bedtime routine- jammies, 6 oz bottle of formula, nursing top off, read, pray, sing
7:30 bed! (In sleep sack with white noise)
4:00 AM she’ll wake to eat around this time and then go back to sleep until 7-ish

So yeah, we are feeling very fortunate in the sleep department! Girl is pretty much like clockwork, and she will let us know if she’s ready for a nap! Her wake time is pretty much right on 1 hour 30 min. She’s also so good at self soothing and doesn’t need any rocking to sleep… Which is both awesome and also a little sad at the same time. My baaaaby!!! :)

She has started eating solids, and holy smokes this girl loves to EAT! I mean, we already knew that, but it has been a joy introducing new foods to her, too! She is picking it up like a champ (having 8 teeth probably helps a lot with that…) and devours whatever we give her. It’s so cute, when we feed her a puree, she takes a spoonfull and then immediately sticks her thumb in her mouth. It’s like, her way of sucking it down? I don’t know, but it’s adorable. :)

This age is just such a dream, and I’m excited to watch her grow more and more. Little Sophie Michelle, YOU are a dream!
