So in my post about making goals, I included having healthy snacks in your house for a quick bite when you need something good! I thought I’d elaborate on that today and share my top favorite healthy snacks. I like to pick a day (usually Sunday- the start of a new week!) to prep some snacks so they’re ready for me throughout the week when I need to grab something. We’ll buy a big bag of carrots and a bunch of celery, and I’ll cut them up and store them in tupperware in the fridge. It makes it much easier to just grab some carrot sticks and hummus or peanut butter when they’re prepared! And it makes me less likely to want to just grab a bag of chips instead. ;)
- Almonds (or any kind of nut!)
- Fruit (berries, bananas, grapefruit, oranges, kiwi, pineapple, mango, the list goes on)
- Hard boiled eggs
- Celery and peanut butter (a classic combination)
- Hummus (great with veggies like carrots, celery and bell peppers!)
- Quest Nutrition bars (I also love Larabars and Kind bars)
Bars are always a good choice for a healthy snack, too, but you have to be careful and read those ingredients! My general rule of thumb is if I can’t pronounce the ingredients, I don’t want it in my body. This is one reason why I absolutely LOVE Quest Nutrition bars! They are not only super healthy and packed with protein but they’re also delicious! I like to have a bar for dessert when I’ve got a sweet tooth but want something healthy that won’t weigh me down. They have awesome recipes too, for healthy alternatives. And with flavors like chocolate chip cookie dough, chocolate brownie, white chocolate raspberry and cookies ‘n cream, it definitely feels like an indulgence!

I love roasted chickpeas or kale chips!
Snacks are super important to me!! Ring hypoglycemic, I have to make sure my blood sugar doesn’t drop too low { which is has a habit of doing }, so I usually eat 5-6 small meals a day! Love love love my almonds with some coconut flakes and dark chocolate, or a nice fruit smoothie, oooorrrrr if I have Lara bars, those are perfect :)
I love eating trail mix as a snack. It has the healthy nuts like almonds but a bit of sweetness with the candies! Plus the dried fruit ( minus raisins – I hate raisins!!)

anything with peanut butter is absolutely my go-to snack! i’m also a big fan on anything dipped in the jalapeño cilantro hummus from TJs. i hate those two ingredients on their own but whoever came up with that combo is pure genius!
I love making protein puddings and having that with berries.
Those bars look/sound yummy! I eat lots of small meals/snacks throughout the day, always been like that. I try to eat lots of fruit during the day and protein :)
I have been loving those kind bars I won from your blog a few weeks ago! Healthy and delicious (: two of my other favorite healthy snacks are fresh fruits and veggies. I love strawberries, cherry tomatoes and cucumbers. Yum!!

Awesome giveaway! I have never tried Questbars but I REALLY want to! My favorite snacks are trail mix (as long as chocolate and dried fruit are included ;)), hummus, or apples with peanut butter :)

Quest bars ARE an awesome snack, when I’m out of those I prefer sine plain greek yogurt with a scoop of protein in it, let it firm up over night and it’s like a mousse, love it!

Gosh, snacking is so important when you are breastfeeding. I’m hungry all the time. I love bars too- quick and easy to eat with one hand. I love Kind Bars, never tried Quest. I drink a lot of smoothies and love toast with almond butter and coconut oil for snacking too!

It’s hard to beat hummus or fruit for perfect snacks/ We don’t really have the variety of quest/lara bars etc in Australia. Here they are limited in variety and quite expensive. I was blown away by how many options you guys have when I visited NY last year!
