19 weeks! Already!
Something veryyyy exciting happened this past week: Baby kicked! It was the wee hours of the morning (like probably 3am or so) and I was awoken by these tiny but firm little kicks. I just lay there with my hand on my belly, smiling and soaking it all in. It’s funny, it wasn’t too long ago that I was pregnant with Sam and feeling his little kicks from the inside, and yet, feeling them all over again, it’s almost as though I had forgotten what they felt like. I mean, truly felt like. Heaven, is the best way to describe it.
…Until the last month or so, when they actually feel painful, ha! ;)
What else is new this week…
We have our anatomy scan (the 20 week fetal assessment, which is just a fancy way of saying the major ultrasound where they check to see all organs are in place and whatnot) this coming Wednesday, so that’s exciting! We keep reminding ourselves that we have to tell the tech we do NOT want to know the sex, first and foremost! Since this is the one where most people find out! We are going to have them write it on a paper (like we did with Sam) and tuck it away somewhere, either for if we cave and do end up peeking (shhh! ;) or just to look at once Baby is born to see if it was correct! Sometimes they aren’t, can you imagine? Thinking you’re having one sex only to find out it’s the opposite once you deliver! I can’t.
As far as energy and sickness go, I’ve been feeling great! I’m back on track with exercising, which helps boost my energy as well as my happiness and, you know, my sanity. I actually hopped on the exercise bike yesterday and just rode, and before I knew it I had gone 15 miles! Yeeeeah… Needless to say, I’m pretty sore today. But it felt AMAZING! I’m trying to remind myself on days when I really don’t feel like doing anything, that it always feels better after a workout. Even if it’s not much, like a 10 minute routine from Tone It Up. Any little thing helps. We also walk twice a day with Sam (morning and evening) so that’s a nice something, if nothing else happens that day!
One thing that is always a huge motivator for me is a new outfit! I just recently shopped at T.J.Maxx, and I had heard of their great selection of workout clothes, but mannnn, like, I had no idea it was that good. I pretty much just wanted everything there, but ended up with this adorable (and so summery!) TIU-inspired outfit. It’s kind of all I want to wear. And yes, some days I go all day in my workout clothes. They’re just so comfortable, how could I not? Plus, when they’re this cute… Well.. You know.
I’m using some form of lotion/body cream/ coconut oil every night and it’s so luxurious! I should really remember to do this every night, pregnant or not! ;)
I’ve been craving apples with peanut butter and peaches like CRAZY. Any fruit, really. Vegetables aren’t my favorite right now, but I’m forcing myself to rembember to eat them! I’ve actually been loving loaded salads, but any heated veggies are just NOT my thing.
Oh, and here’s some KEEPIN’ IT REAL for you. The belly button is nearing the surface (it popped with Sam and it will most definitely be popping again with this baby!) and the pants now must be held together using the trusty hair tie method. Hey, it works! I think I might actually cave this time around and get some maternity jeans… We’ll see…
It feels crazy that I’m nearly halfway through my pregnancy already! INSANE, really. This is going a little too fast for my liking!

Aw that is so sweet you felt kicks for the first time! I looooved that feeling with my son. I remember feeling them at 16 weeks while I was working night shift and I was beyond excited haha! I’m so impressed that you aren’t finding out the sex. I have ZERO will power and had to know! haha but good for you! We get very few surprises in life and this is probably the best one a person can receive! Congrats again lady!

Looking gorgeous! It seems like this pregnancy is flying by (probably doesn’t feel that way for you). I think waiting to find out the gender is going to be awesome! When else in life can you be that surprised!?
