Okay, so I’ve already discussed how winter officially starts in my mind the day after Thanksgiving. So no need to point out the fact that it doesn’t really start until the 21st of December. No need at all. Mainly because I am stubborn and will not listen to you anyway, so really, it’s futile. Sorry. So, yeah. Winter! I made a little listy-poo of the things I want to do this season. Really, it’s more of a “Christmas to do” since honestly, everything I’ve thought of is going to be happening in the month of December leading up to Christmas, although winter lasts through, what, February? March? April? Anybody know?
– Pick out a tree and decorate it
– Go ice skating
– Bake a lot of cookies! It’s a Norwegian tradition to make like 7 types of cookies, but I doubt that will happen. Every year we say we’re going to, and it never gets to be that much (7 is a lot, people!) so I’m not even going to try this year. I think it counts (at least in my mind) to do multiple batches, yes?
– Watch Christmas movies (musts are Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story, Home Alone, It’s a Wonderful Life, Elf, Muppet Christmas Carol, and Love Actually. Okay, I really like Christmas movies. See a whole list of movies my hubby made here!)
– Peppermint Hot chocolate and Peppermint Mochas
– Wrap presents
– Capture all of the special moments with my camera (and videos!)
– Drive around looking at lights
– Wear all of my coats!
– Attend the Nutcracker
– See “Les Mis” and “The Hobbit” in theatres
– Send Christmas cards
– Family Christmas photos
– Christmas shopping trip
– Friendsmas party
– Make a Pinterest Christmas craft (because, let’s be honest, I have a lot!)

7 types of cookies is quite the challenge! Maybe I will attempt it. I mean people wear sweaters to hide the holiday pounds right?

I haven’t done a Winter to-do list. I don’t really have much desire to do much other than cuddle on the couch with hot chocolate.

Can’t wait to see all (or at least some) of your winter coats! My Winter list involves reading like 9 books and getting myself a great pair of low heeled boots. And of course decorating the tree, taking a family portrait, and all that other Christmasy stuff.
Love your blog!
Lauren
Katie Did What
Aw you’re so sweet!! :) Yes, you’ll be seeing a lot of those coats, and wow 9 books is a lofty goal! I’m not a terribly fast reader, so that would definitely be a challenge for me! Good luck girl!

Best list!
1. Ice skating sounds so fun! I have never gone skating before but I have it on the list this year.
2. Peppermint drinks for the win!
3. Christmas movies always and forever. All day long.
4. Sending and getting Christmas cards is one of my favorite things. I wish I could send you one.
5. I keep seeing tons of crafts on pinterest but I am just not a crafty person so I don’t know if I will make anything. I do really like those Anthro inspires mason jar snowglobes. They are so cute!
6. I want to read A Christmas Carol. I know the story of course but never read the actual book.
7. I also want to make cookies for a few people like my sister and some of her friends.
And last but not least, going to a Christmas Eve Eve service at church and then a Christmas Eve service at my parents church which is also the one I grew up in. I love to get all dolled up with my fancy dresses and shoes and getting to see everyone. And it will be my first year at another church and with these new people so it is exciting. I love the holidays!
Katie Did What
I LOVE your list!!! And you could totally send me a Christmas card, if you wanted… :) I love them!

I’m going to see The Nutcracker on Sunday and I’m super excited! It’s my first time seeing a professional ballet! I also can’t wait to see Les Mis!!
Katie Did What
Ahhh you are going to LOVE the Nutcracker!! We used to go every year when I was in elementary school and I haven’t been in far too long! :) It’s such a fun wintry outing!
