What Calm Before the Storm?

I don’t know how to talk about how much my heart hurts from the shooting on Friday.  It is literally heartbreaking to think about those little angel babies.  I wasn’t sure how I was going to talk about it on here, since I spent all of friday morning/afternoon in a fog, really.  My thoughts and prayers are with those sweet families and everyone who has any ties in it whatsoever, which is everyone really, isn’t it?  This is such a human tragedy.  That’s all I can say without starting to make no sense at all.  Because, it just doesn’t.  It doesn’t make sense.

So there’s this saying I like to use, you see.  “The calm before the storm.”  I like to use it around a certain time, you know, before the whirlwind of the holiday season starts, but I kind of forgot to use it this year?  And now, it’s too late, guys.  Like, way too late.  I should have used it like weeks ago, and now here I am stuck with admitting this to be true.  So.  The calm before the storm?  What calm before the storm?  The storm has most definitely already hit, and there is no calm in sight.  And I. love. it.  Love love love.  My calendar is so full, and that’s pretty much one of the best things in life, don’t you think?  I do.

So, this weekend.  This weekend was chock full o’ birthday parties!  We had my cousin Jacob’s 20th party with the fam bam and also my darling friend Steph’s onesie/pj 25th party.  omg.  Best idea for a party ever?  Possibly.  It was just too good.  I mean, she was definitely the cutest dalmation I’ve seen in a while.  And there was this one huge guy with a huge lion suit on, and man.  It was a little surreal, and I kept wanting Dorothy to appear?  But that didn’t happen. We had so much fun, and we even made forts which definitely brought me back.

And now it’s Sunday, and here I am, looking at my full calendar, and getting really excited for all of the fun activities to come.  I mean, you guys, in case you weren’t aware, Christmas is like a week away!  I get giddy just thinking about it, don’t you?  But then, I get that feeling, like, wait just a second there mister.  You tryin’ to tell me that it’s already almost time for Christmas?  Whoa.  What happened to the entire month of November is really what I’m wondering, because I feel like that didn’t even happen?  Am I the only one here?  I mean, October kind of dragged on, and then boom!  It’s December 16th!  Well okay then.  Time to bake some cookies, I suppose.
