Well, that wraps up Birthday Weekend 2014. It was a good ‘un, that’s for sure! Dare I say, the best one yet? Sam just makes every single thing better. I love it.
My birthday began with Birthday Starbucks, as per tradition, and lots of smiles from my Sammy boy. My dad came over and he and Zack got lunch and brought it back to our place where we ate and celebrated with a mini peach and raspberry pie. The rest of the day was spent vegging out with my little family and enjoying the day. We got the best burgers in town for dinner (if you’re in Sacramento, you have to go to Willie’s!) and ended the night with some episodes of The O.C. Oh, yeah, have I told you? I got Zack to start watching The O.C. with me and he loves it! Ha! ;) Small victory for me, there. So we’ve been watching a few episodes a night, after we get Sam to bed. And it’s so fun.
Friday we went shopping and grabbed lunch at Boudin. Of course, we got a clam chowder bread bowl. And it was delish. We ate al fresco and enjoyed the beautiful day. The perfect little family outing. :)

Saturday I had a few girlfriends over and we ate hummus and guac (both homemade and delicious!) and had a dance party. Love those girls. Kara met Sam for the first time too, so that was pretty sweet.
In other news, my little love bug is 11 weeks! He smiles and laughs a lot and is enjoying tummy time more now. His neck is so strong and he holds his head up like a champ! He’s no longer our little bobble head. ;) One of his favorite things to do is to “stand up” and those little legs are SO strong! Each day it seems he gets more and more rolls, and they are the cutest ever! I made those rolls- I’m quite proud of them. He is an expert sleeper now- hallelujah!– and I can finally say that he is indeed “sleeping through the night.” He gets in a good solid 5-6 hour stretch each night! But I keep hearing that babies change a lot, so I guess I will try not to get too comfortable. ;)
Today officially kicks off my journey with the Tone It Up plan! In case you missed it, Zack got it for me for my birthday, and I have been reading through it and yeah, basically obsessing over it, all weekend. We went grocery shopping yesterday and completely stocked our fridge with lots of lean protein and fresh fruit and veggies- we are ready to rock this! We’re starting off with the 7 Day Slim Down, but since I’m nursing and need the extra calories, I won’t be following it to a tee. I’ll be listening to my body, as I always do, and just adding a bit more caloric intake to make sure I’m getting enough. I’m so happy that Zack is doing this with me, as it will definitely make it easier to follow and not to slip up! :) I’ll definitely be talking more about that this Thursday for the Healthy Habits link up, so be sure to come back to see my progress!
Annnnd that was the longest post ever. Sorry bout it.
Hope your weekend was fab! Did you do anything fun?
When’s your birthday?

Happy Birthday! I love all of your birthday outfits. I really like the kimono over that (I believe) Forever 21 dress. I have one, too, and a similar kimono. I want to try them together now. You definitely do not look like you had a baby ever, let alone eleven weeks ago! You look so good!

I really can’t think of a better way to spend a birthday than eating burgers, and binge watching the OC, glad you had a good one lovely! :) J x

Glad you had such a good birthday weekend. But please, tell me how you got him to watch The OC with you? I keep trying to get Adam to watch with me, especially since one of his good friends actually really loved the show, but he won’t do it!
Katie
Haha! We had just finished watching one of his favorite shows (24) and so it was my turn to pick, and I gave him the choice of The OC or Gilmore Girls. And here we are! ;) I’m still working on getting him to watch Gilmore Girls with me, because I’m convinced he’ll like it, it just is taking a LOT more work! So funny, because one of HIS friends really loves GG (and would watch with his sisters) and so you’d think that would make this easier- just like your guy and the OC! But no. Just as hard. Good luck, girl! ;)
