Another thing I’m super passionate about is eating, especially snacking! I am SUCH a snacker! But don’t let that word fool you- snacks can be healthy! I am all about the healthy snacks, actually! Especially with my busy on-the-go lifestyle, what with working from home and running errands and being a mom to two busy little ones (with another on the way, ahh!), I need snacks that are quick, easy to grab and healthy, so I have energy to get through the day! TIPS FOR EATING HEALTHY ON THE GO
This is EVERYTHING. I love the saying, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” This rings so true in life in general, but especially in healthy eating! I love my meal prep Sundays, when I prepare a few solid snacks and foods for the week ahead. FAGE makes this part easy, with their yummy FAGE Split Cups! I just stock up for the week, and I can easily grab one and take it with me or eat and run! I love that it’s packed with goodness (protein to keep me feeling full and energized!) and it’s already prepared so I don’t have to spend any time thinking about it! Makes a healthy lifestyle that much easier to obtain!
2. KEEP SNACKS IN THE CAR.
Oftentimes, I’m out and about and find myself needing a pick-me-up, and when this happens, there is NOTHING worse than having NO snacks on hand! Nobody likes to be hangry, but a hangry pregnant person is a whole other level! ;) One of my favorite things that I’ve started doing more recently, is to keep my favorite healthy (non-perishable) snacks in the middle console of my car, so I am never without something to snack on! Trail mix, nuts, healthy bars and dried fruit are all great options for this! Bonus: if the kids get hungry, you’ve got snacks for them too! As for the yogurt, just bring it along in a cooler or something insulated with an ice pack to keep it cool!
3. MAKE HEALTHY CHOICES.
If you do find yourself in a crunch and needing to buy something while on the go, make healthy choices! You can even find a healthy option on the run if you need to- pass on the chips and go for the almonds or a piece of fruit and some FAGE yogurt instead! It IS possible, it just may take a little bit of extra thought sometimes. ;) But, I promise, it is totally doable and you will feel SO much better when you make the right choices!
