Welcome to week 3 of This ‘n That Thursday!  Won’t you join the cute Jena and I and link-up this week?  :)

This:  My oldest brudda just got into town last night!!  You guys, I haven’t seen Jeremy for an entire year!  The last time I saw him was last Christmas and his flight was delayed and we, obviously, had a Criminal Minds/ Jeopardy! marathon because what else would we do.  Needless to say, I’m so excited to see him!

That:  I made another batch of cookies.  Yes, I did.  This time, they were Andes mint cookies, and you can find the recipe here.  O to the m to the g, you guys.  If you like chocolate and mint (haha- that was a joke, you see, because I mean, there are people that exist that DON’T like these things? Also, puppies and babies, I’m assuming would be on their list of dislikes?) then these cookies will blow your mind.  Another thing that’s mind blowing is how freaking EASY they are to make!  Don’t tell my family though, I want them to think I slaved over these bad boys.  ;)  …..Also a joke, because I mean, half of my family will read this.  oops.

This:  Our annual family shopping trip is today (minus the other brother and sister-in-law because they’re in Santa Barbara with her family til after Christmas, then we get to see them too!!) and I am so excited.  My parents give us each our Christmas money and we all go shopping together and pick out what we want and then, as my mom puts it, we “wrap our presents and act surprised on Christmas morning.”  It’s really the most fun, and my favorite part is just spending the whole day together, shopping.  Because, I mean, I don’t know if you knew this, but shopping is one of my favorite things.  And of course my family is another of my favorite things, so yes.  Today is a good day.  :)

That:  I was talking to my mom about how I don’t have a nativity, and then we pulled out the set that I used to assemble every year, and she said it’s mine to keep.  I love this nativity.  I used to play with it, acting out the scene and making sure that the angel always, always is the last to be added.  That’s just how it works.  I love this nativity and I love that it’s here to remind us of the real reason for the season!

    Sooo, I’m one of those people that does NOT like mint….ewww…or babies / puppies (just kidding :)). But seriously, mint is disgusting!

    I’ve made those cookies before! THey’re pretty tasty, but I like the “andes mint surprise” cookies a little better–the cookies with andes mints inside!

    I giggled to myself immediately upon opening my web browser because I thought “Ohhh This N’ That and here’s a cat… this is going to be a rhyming thing!” I’m 9 years old, I swear.

    Feel free to send your big bro over to the East coast.

    My mom and I bought all my Christmas stuff a couple weeks ago and she tried to let me leave the store with it. I much prefer the “wrap and act surprised” approach haha I think your family is doing it up right.

    I know how you feel. My younger brother lives in South Korea and I don’t get to see him much. He came out in September and probably wont be able to come back until next September. I miss him tons.

    Today is the mega-shopping day????!!!! No!!! Im missing out! Thats my favorite! :( Have a great time!! Also, Ive always loved that nativity set too. Its so beautiful. Thats so sweet your mom gave it to you :)

    Haha, my husbands name is also Jeremy and he’s a ginger, which I of course have to tease him about. I swore that I would never marry a red head…proof that God does indeed have a great sense of humor.
    Have a blast while he’s in town! And all the cookies you’ve been making look delicious! Going to try the s’more ones this weekend because I can’t buy andes mints here. I know what you’re thinking…why do I live in Korea if I can’t have access to andes mints? I ask myself the same thing all the time.

    Also those andes mint cookies? My cousin made them this july for our girls lake weekend and they were gone instantly and she made more for Christmas and I can’t wait to eat them. Soooo good.
