Dear Zack, I left you alone in the office whilst I was wrapping some presents, and as I came back in you had a sheepish grin on your face and informed me that you had just bought something from my Pinterest Christmas wish list. You are a good man. Annnnd I feel like I should leave you alone in the office more often…?
Dear Family Shopping Trip, you were so much fun! Spending the day shopping and having dinner and hanging with my family, including my brother who I hadn’t seen in a whole entire year?! Yeah. It was amazing, and I am so happy that it’s Christmastime, because this is the best time. Let me tell you, this trip was quite the success, too! I got so many amazing things I can’t wait to share with you all, including my New Year’s Eve dress, eeeek! But, you know, I have to wrap all of them and act surprised on Christmas morning, sooooo I guess I’ll have to wait to show you.
Dear Hyatt suite 1200 party, so last night Zack got a message from his uncle who is way up there in the Hyatt corporation, letting us know they’re in town and are having a little party at a suite in the Hyatt downtown. Of course, we couldn’t miss out on this, so we arrive and soon realize that this is the exact suite that the governator, Arnold, and lots of wayyyy more important people lived in/ stay at while in Sacramento. Like, holy freaking cow, you guys. The balcony of this place was HUGE and had the most gorgeous view of the capital EVER. Too bad it was dark and freezing cold, otherwise I would have stayed all night out there. We attempted to take some photos, but well, as you can see, it wasn’t the most ideal conditions. Anyway, we felt like ballers is the moral of that story. Thanks, Uncle John!
Dear Savior, I’m reading these stories of healing and miracles that Jesus performed throughout his life and I’m just absolutely blown away. I feel so much closer to God than I ever have, and so much more grateful and in awe of the birth of Christ than ever before. I am in awe. Simple as that. And also so excited for Christmas this year, like more than ever before.
Happy weekend, friends! Tonight is a friend’s Christmas party, tomorrow we’re visiting some friends throughout the day, Sunday is a museum trip with the fam and then Christmas dinner with my dad’s side! Phew! Busy weekend, and I still have a million presents to wrap, ahhhh!
What are your plans for the weekend?
Jen

Oh, Pinterest wish lists… Do they ever end?
And I have to agree about the stories of Jesus. I have been reading about various parts of his life lately in my quiet time and I am quite awestruck and humbled as well.
Have a wonderful Christmas! :)

I still can’t believe it is Christmas. Isn’t that crazy?
Jesus being born was the best thing that ever happened to any of us and for that I am thankful. At bible study this week we read the Christmas story and it just really hits you how amazing it is.
Tonight I am being lazy(like usual) and trying to get some blog posts done that I’ve put off for ages. Tomorrow I have to work from 9:30 to 1:30(ick.) and then I have LOTS of laundry to do and beautifying and outfit planning to get done for Christmas things. Sunday, I go to church with my sister and her husband in the bigger city and our church always has service at night since we currently share a building and they thought it would be silly to have two services two days in a row and they want people to be able to spend more time with family so we are having a special Christmas Eve Eve service on sunday night instead of monday. And my parents and my bro in laws family are supposed to be coming with us. I can’t wait. I have an outfit all planned and of course, the boy I like will be there so hopefully I’ll get to run into him ;) haha And then monday night is when we doing our Christmas with my sister and bro in law so they are coming over for dinner and then we are all going to Christmas Eve service at the church I grew up in and that my parents go to(I went to it for 10 years before I left earlier this year. Crazy!) and there is one big service at 7 with everyone. I am excited for it. Some people make think it is strange to go to two church services but I like getting dressed up and getting to see everyone and just it is such a happy time. I love it. I just hope I don’t run into this one lady who is trying to set me up with her son. No lie. And it isn’t easy to avoid people in a small town like this. May she not see me haha. And then we are going home and doing our tradition of opening all our stockings and watching a Christmas movie before bed. It is always a good time.
And then Christmas day! Wake up, presents and then getting ready. The Grandparents are coming over for lunch and maybe my sister and bro in law but I’m not sure. Our Christmas day is always very chill and not much happens and we won’t be able to do the small party thing that is each year with my dad’s side of the family which makes me sad but oh well. One day when I’m older I want to have a good ol’ fashioned Christmas with a traditional sit down dinner and photos and just all that classic good stuff. It has always made me sad that we have never done anything like that in my family. So I told this group of friends of mine that one day when we all have families of our own that we will get together and have that Christmas we’ve always wanted. I like to plan ahead haha.
Wow. I can’t believe I wrote all of that. Crazy much? Sorry to blow up your comments with this novel. Yikes.
I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and wonderful time with your family! May it be a great weekend :)

Aww Katie, you are so sweet! YES, that was quite possibly the longest comment I have ever received, but I liked it! Thanks for sharing :) I love hearing what other people’s traditions are and how they celebrate with their families. Sounds like you’re going to have the BEST Christmas!!! I sure hope you do!
