It’s been stormy and rainy for the past week or so, and while that is hard because CABIN FEVER is real, it’s also been kind of fun and special. Just long rainy days, spent inside with our little loves, coming up with new games to play and creative ways to get those wiggles out to ensure they’re ready for bedtime. It’s a hard job, but somebody’s gotta do it.
{She loves her moose (from Ikea!) so much and is always carrying it around with her. So cute, especially since it’s the same size as she is!!}
And sure, these days can seem long and monotonous if we let them, but if we look closer we see just how sweet and perfect they really are.
One of my goals for the new year is to practice being PRESENT, and I think these rainy days spent inside are God’s way of teaching us just that.
It’s getting down on the floor with our babies and playing with them, really playing with them, and strengthening that special bond that only we have! It’s rolling around on the carpet with our little ones, it’s silly animal noises and our own little make-shift 4-piece family band. It’s singing songs and playing chase around the couch. It’s tickle fights and making masterpieces out of watercolor and crayons.
It’s being present and seeing just how blessed we are. Yeah, rainy days aren’t so bad after all.
I’d love to know: what do you do on rainy days?

Sweet, sweet thoughts :) Also, 1. I’m gonna need that moose for Adeline! and 2. Love Lisa Leonard’s designs! Her stuff is beautiful, and timeless!

Surprisingly, we haven’t had many rainy days in Oregon lately – just a LOT of snow. I totally understand the cabin fever/stir crazy kiddos thing. Teaching 27 kidlets who can’t go outside due to ice is a rough go!!! Keep that chocolate stash stocked up and get those wiggles out often! Good luck on the rainy days, lady! :)
