So I’ve compiled a little “Christmas Wishlist” to share on this here little blog. This was quite difficult because in all honesty, I am a giver. My honest favourite part of the holidays is coming up with gifts to give to others, not thinking of things that I want to receive. Nothing gives me more pleasure than making my loved ones happy by what I’ve gotten them. It’s like a challenge that I take very seriously. (Which is why I have been so frustrated lately trying to come up with the perfect gift for my eldest brother… Which I have FINALLY! figured out! Yay.)
That being said, it was fun (if not a bit time-consuming, just because I had to come up with enough items to make a non-pathetic list!) to create a visual representation. Makes it a bit more tangible. Although of course I am not at all expecting anything on this list. A girl can dream, right?
A classic “Return to Tiffany & co.” toggle bracelet. I think this speaks for itself, pretty much, and also
to my obsession with Audrey Hepburn and the movie that made Tiffany’s an absolutely iconic store.
A Canon EOS Rebel. I have been lusting after this for awhile, but cannot at the moment justify such a large purchase quite yet. I would love to be able to take such prestine photos, and some day, some day, I shall! In the meantime, I’ve got my little dinky Canon Powershot, which does the job just fine. Just, not, you know, EXQUISITELY, like this one would.
The Urban Decay Naked palette was a quickly coveted, and thus quickly sold-out, commodity! The eyeshadows are, apparently, the perfect combination to make a gorgeous “naked” eye, and yet, I can find it nowhere. So sad. But, it’s still on my wishlist. Some day (if it’s ever back in stock)…
A square-cut aquamarine and diamond ring. I already got my “rocks” back in August when Zachary proposed, and I adore it. This would just be something for my right hand. Gorgeous.
“Classy” by Derek Blasberg. I read a review on this book, and it just sounds so fun and entertaining. I love a good read, too, and of course the fact that the book cover is Tiffany blue (my wedding color)?! YES, PLZ! It’s too perfect. Plus, this excerpt made me laugh: “Every women should have four pets in her life. A mink in her closet, a jaguar in her garage, a tiger in her bed, and a jackass who pays for everything.” (For the record, Zachary is anything BUT a jackass.) :)
A cape. I have been wanting a cape for quite some time now, like we’re talking over 2 years, but I have never found the “right” one. I love the way they look paired with tights and a little dress underneath, and some boots or brogues, and maybe a beret of sorts, but alas, they all seem so pricey or just not right. BUT! Recently one particular cape has caught my eye, and it’s from no other place than… American Apparel!! (Go figure!) Now, I’m not sure how long they have had it, but I have just now become aware of it’s existence! I think I’ll be pulling the trigger very soon and buying it for myself, using my yet-to-be-used 25% off I got for my birthday back in June(!) Anyway. Exciting, I know. But capes are just so dreamy, and ethereal, and plus, I secretly want to be Little Red Riding Hood.
“Beauty & the Beast” on DVD. Since I was a little girl, it has been my favourite movie. I used to call it “Beauty and the Beach.” Quite fitting that it takes place in France, since I’ve since become a French major and all! When I saw that it had come out in a new DVD edition, I got really giggly and excited! I only have the VHS, which has been watched so many times I’m not even sure it works anymore!
So, there’s my wishy-wishlist. I know they’re pretty far-fetched, but like I said before, it’s just wishes, not anything I’m expecting or anything. All’s I really REALLY want is for my mum to be healthy. And world peace. That’s what she always says whenever I ask her what she wants for Christmas. Every single year. “World peace.”
What’s on your Christmas wishlist?
Kate
Your Christmas gift from me is not on here, but the category it falls under is! And I couldn’t find what I REALLY wanted to get you, so that’ll have to wait until pre-wedding I suppose :-) I love your choices though! Esp that gorgeous ring! We should have a Christmas party, non? Or perhaps I’ll just bring your gift to the dress fitting :)
