The countdown has begun! And my arms are tired from all the wrapping I’ve been doing. The dining room table has been completely taken over by wrapping paper and tape dispensers and scissors and ribbon and boxes and ahhh! It’s crazy. But my parents are coming over today after my mom’s appointment, so I cleared it off. Looks nice again. Phew!
I baked last night. Peanut Butter Kiss cookies. Yummmm! And today I will (time permitting) be baking Gingerbread cookies. And decorating them with icing (which is, as everyone knows, the best part.) But I’m not sure if I’ll have the time. You know that “storm” I mentioned before? (“…the calm before the storm”) Well. The calm is juuuuust about (if not entirely) over. Bring on the storm!! My parents are coming today around noon, and I still need to do my exercising before they get here, and then we’re going to lunch, and then I have work at 5:00. So. Hm. How long does it take to make gingerbread cookies? To be honest, I’ve never done it. I wanted to try, though, because they’re just such iconic “Christmas” cookies, you know?
Plus, I loooove me some icing.
Which is also why I have decided to crack down on my exercise program (P90X). Following it religiously every day up until Christmas Eve. Yes, that’s right. Waking up at 9am and doing an hour workout. I’m preparing for all of the food that will be consumed come Christmas week. Today’s workout is Plyometrics. Fun!
This is me, drinking out of my new Starbucks mug Zachary bought for me:
(Notice Mister Nutcracker chillin’ behind me.)
