It’s September, which means fall is quickly approaching. Now, I know, I know, I am not a proponent of rushing summer, and I by no means am, but we can all agree that now is the best time to peruse all of the fashion magazines, because September fashion magazines are the best, yes? Plus, I AM a proponent of being prepared for the upcoming season, and fashion is certainly high up there on my list of things to prepare for. Plus, the September issues of magazines are always jam packed with fall fashion, which is basically the best kind of fashion, methinks. So yes, I’m still soaking in the summer rays, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t thinking about fall fashion already. I mean, it is September after all. What do you expect? So I picked up a few of my favorite magazines at Target (everyone’s favorite store, but of course) and flipped through and gahhh I am just so excited for this season this year! Time to bust out the scarves and knit sweaters and skinny jeans and create some fresh new outfits!
Today’s outfit is inspired by a few repeating fall fashion 2014 trends I noticed in the September issue of InStyle magazine. Miniskirts, lots of layers, ankle boots and knit sweaters are all going to be huge this season. I thought they would all go together quite nicely, so I combined the trends. Layers are probably my favorite part of fall fashion, and I’m constantly building on my outfits. They’re especially perfect for unpredictable weather days, which are pretty much the norm in autumn. I also parted my hair a bit deeper to the side than usual and used a bronze eyeshadow- a couple of fall beauty tips I picked up from InStyle as well. So yeah. I’m getting more and more excited for fall as this post progresses, go figure.
I’m all sorts of inspired for fall now! How about you?
What’s your favorite fall fashion look?

p.s. Pick up two magazines (Elle, InStyle and/or Vogue) at Target before 9/13 and get a $5 Target gift card back!
LOVE THIS OUTFIT. So effortlessly fall!
Thanks girl! Fall fashion is just too perfect. This is making me really excited for it!

I love your fall looks! I have to hit the Loft up and get some fall duds for the office!

Those boots are great! Love them!
Thanks Kelly! Me too. I probably wear them entirely too much ;)

Agreed girly! I’m using every second available to me to soak in the rays of the sun while I’m reading those magazines and getting ready for fall! Ugh I love fall, it is by far my favorite season of them all!
Fall is pretty great! But I’m definitely like you and soaking in all of the sun, too! Although, here in CA we won’t be seeing much “fall” weather for like a month or more, but still. ;)

Adorable outfit!
I’m totally ready for fall fashion too, but I don’t think the Arizona weather is quite ready yet. ;) I always have a difficult time knowing WHEN to start adding in some fall pieces around here because summer weather lasts well into October. *sigh* This leads me to a post idea/request – fall fashion transition outfits! Actually, this outfit you’re posting here would be perfect for that. Would love to see more!
Ha! Yeah, our weather isn’t ready for fall either! Not by any means ;) It’s fun to dream, though, right?? haha and YES, I love that idea! Thanks girl- I’m totally doing a post on that now!!

I love that last picture of you and Sam reading! So cute! And cute outfit too – looks like a good summer to fall transition. Off topic but I’m currently 15 weeks pregnant and I was wondering if you used/ anything during your pregnancy to avoid stretch marks. Because you look fantastic in your SUP pictures! Thanks, K.
Aww you’re so sweet Karissa!! I used coconut oil as a full body moisturizer (like FULL body- everywhereeee haha) and definitely recommend it! :) Plus you smell hella good too!

I wore tights and boots today! It was probably a little early for that cause I got a little warm haha but it was SO chilly this morning. I looked ridiculous with my nice work dress on and fox pajama leggings on underneath it lol gotta love fall
Oh wow! It’s already cool enough for that?! CRAZY! And I’m sure you looked adorable, as always!
