My mom was my icon. I looked up to her so much. She was strong, smart, confident, beautiful and caring. All attributes I aspire to be! She worked for the state of California, and climbed up to a Manager position, which was so inspiring to me. She used to shop at Ann Taylor allll the time- she was a working mama, and always looked so chic and professional in her cute blouses, pencil skirts and chunky heels. Because of her, I always wanted an office job, literally JUST so I could dress the part… So instead I became a blogger, and I still get to dress the part. Win-win! ;)
As you all know, my everyday style is pretty casual and laid-back, but I love mixing fun pieces and I definitely love dressing up when I can! It’s my mission to show that mom life can be stylish and chic, too! I think both of these outfits are perfect examples of that. They’re more tailored and sophisticated, but also totally comfortable and casual enough to chase after little ones, if need be! Because yes, yoga pants are great and all, but there’s something about getting dressed for the day in great clothes that you feel great in, and OWNING it. Whatever your life looks like, that’s the key right there. Own it, girl.
This jacket is hands-down my favorite recent purchase. It is SO GOOD and perfect for fall and winter! It’s such a beautiful color that goes with everything, and adds some edge to any look. I love the soft material, too, and it is seriously so comfortable. Would be a great addition to a fall capsule wardrobe too (stay tuned for my fall capsule post)!
And can we talk about this leopard blouse?! A new favorite piece of mine, for sure. I love the fun pop that it adds to a neutral outfit.
Although, arguably, leopard IS a neutral.
You don’t want to miss Ann Taylor’s Friends of Ann Event happening today, 9/13! SUCH a good sale, with many of my pieces in this post included!
I wanna know: what do YOU do for work?

Oh my gosh I am in love with these outfits – specifically the leopard print blouse! I’m all for the leopard trend going on!
I work from home full-time as a sales rep remotely for a company back in the U.S. (while trying to get my blog to take off!). I don’t leave the house often (#chainedtothecomputer), but when I do, I love using it as an excuse to get dressed up!

What a fun post! This makes me miss my mom (she passed away a couple months ago). I work from home as a copywriter and with customer support (for two online companies).

I work for the state of N.C. and recently started a management position. And today is my only child’s third birthday! #workingmama
