My favorite thing to wear in the fall is a plaid shirt, and today I thought it’d be fun to dress it up and channel Blair Waldorf à la Gossip Girl for this look. Because when in doubt, dress like you’re in Gossip Girl, that’s my motto. Or something. I don’t know. This whole summer I feel like my uniform was jean shorts + tank top + sandals, and so I’m trying to force myself to branch out this fall and to remember to dress like a girl sometimes too, i.e. dresses and skirts and whatnot. Although, honestly, the best part of any day is at the end of it when you get home and change into yoga pants + messy bun + sweatshirt, you feel me?
What’s your favorite fall fashion item?

Madeline
I can definitely see Blair’s style in this outfit. I love how you layered the pieces, it looks really well put together. And yes, plaids are awesome for fall, they’re some of my favourite fashion items this time of year. :)

Big cosy jumpers are my favorite! However I am rather inspired to find a cosy plaid shirt! Love the look with a skirt!
Katie
I love big cosy sweaters, as well! And thanks Debbie! :)

Oh I do love me some Blair Waldorf style! I remember when she was wearing headbands on every episode and I could NOT get enough headbands! :)
Katie
YES. I was the same! “If Blair Waldorf wears headbands, I must wear headbands” and whatever else, was basically my mentality during that time of my life, haha

Love love love gossip girl!! And I love this outfit { Blair is my favorite }!! Favorite fall fashion item, has been legging/workout capris, because they can pass very easily as just legging capris, yet I’m so so comfortable and there is warmth!
Katie
Blair is my favorite too!! :) I think I might have to Netflix some Gossip Girl today- I’m just feeling drawn to it haha! And YES, this year I’m doing the same- wearing my workout leggings with my everyday outfits. A. Nobody can tell the difference, B. It’s SO comfortable, and C. They aren’t see-through!! Win-win-win!

Jennie
Love, love, love your red coat! It looks perfect with your plaid shirt and Hunter boots. Fabulous look!
Katie
Aw thanks so much Jennie!! :) I’m usually so drawn to just wearing neutrals in the fall, but pops of color really liven things up a bit! Especially on these dreary days!

Jamie
I love everything about this outfit! Sometimes you just have to channel your inner Blair Waldorf.
Katie
Amen to that.

Hey lady, super quick question for you… did you hem your coat? I got mine and it seems quite a bit longer. Maybe you are just super tall! I am going to have mine hemmed but just curious about yours! xo
Katie
No, I didn’t hem mine- I’m 5’8″, so that may have something to do with it… ;) I hope you can get it to the right length!

Megan
Thanks duuuuuude. Do you mind also sharing what size yours is, and am I right that your coat falls about 2 inches above the knee? It’s aallll about the details, man.

Absolutely love this outfit, especially the hunter boots! Yours look really cute on you! I have 5 pairs myself and love every one of them! I think a white or pink pair would be super cute on you. What do you think?
Katie
OMG yes, I have been wanting a pink pair of Hunters!!! They are so adorable! Lucky you with your 5 pairs!

Katie
Crazy cute outfit!! But, I am 100% on board with the end of the day part. ;) It’s usually the first thing I do when I get home haha!
Katie
YES, it’s always the first thing I do when I get home too! Cute outfits are great, but comfy is where it’s at when at home!
