LOVE walking into the living room to this scene. The bond these two have already just melts my heart. I love it so much.
So last night was the FINALE (the most. dramatic. ever, mind you) of Kaitlyn’s season of The Bachelorette, and I come bearing Man Quotes!
But first, this cute little bump and I worked out yesterday and it was H-A-R-D, but felt so good. As usual. I’m a broken record, guys, but I FEEL SO GOOD finally feeling good, you know?! It’s awesome. Apparently “15 weeks” was my magic number this time around. I’ll take it! And p.s. I really need to clean my mirror, I KNOW. MY BAD. Windex, here I come.
Zack: It’s 3 hours tonight, right? Because After the Final Rose is… after the final rose… Right?
Katie: She can’t pick Nick, simply because she can’t properly pronounce his name. “Nyeck.”
My mom is concerned about my connection with Nick…
Nick: “I’m not nervous… I just hope to be myself…”
Zack: You should be nervous if you’re going to be yourself.
Katie: Ha! None of her family likes Nick.
Nick: “I certainly have my critics from last season…”
Zack: Nahhh, why would you have critics? You were such a standup guy.
Kaitlyn’s mom: “If Kaitlyn trusts you with her heart, then we do too…”
Katie: She totally cringed when she said that.
Shawn: “It could be a deal breaker if you don’t get along with family.”
Zack: It is a deal breaker, Shawn.
Zack: He brought gifts for her sister’s kids! GAME OVER. Shawn wins.
Katie: OMG Shawn and Kaitlyn’s dad are totally twinning!
Kaitlyn’s mom: “Shawn! Now there is a man!”
Katie: And Nick is a boy.
Katie: Kaitlyn’s mom refers to Nick as The Other Guy too!
Their answer to Shawn’s question of blessing was SO different than the one to Nick. They both clearly like Shawn 1000% more.
Kaitlyn: “Nick brings out a side of me that nobody else does.
Zack: Hmm. That’s worrisome.
Kaitlyn and Shawn’s last date sure got off to an awkward start. She broke the initial awkward silence by asking him if he had sunscreen on and now they can’t find anything to talk about.
Kaitlyn: “Shawn put together a memory jar of all of our memories.”
Katie: Wait, so THAT’S what you put in a memory jar?
Kaitlyn: “[Shawn’s gift] was the most thoughtful gift.”
Katie: Oooh.. More thoughtful than Nick’s?!
Shawn: “Tomorrow I’m going to get down on one knee and propose to Kaitlyn Bristowe and ask her to be my wife.”
Zack: Well, enter Neil Lane!
Zack: NEIL LANE TIME! This is Neil Lane’s favorite part of his tjob.
Kaitlyn” “I know we talked about how I would let you know if I felt this way.”
Zack: But I didn’t.
Zack: Oh look, Nick’s true colors come right back out when he didn’t win the game.
Zack: And this is why she looked disgusted when they brought up Nick at the Men Tell All.
Zack: Wait, now it’s like Nick just broke up with her.
Kaitlyn: “I can’t wait to make a lifetime of memories with you.”
Zack: They’re gonna need a bigger jar.
Chris Harrison: “We’re all hoping for a happily ever after.”
Katie: …But we’re not holding our breath.

My biggest qualm about the finale? or more specifically after the final rose (which is, yes, AFTER the final rose…dun dun dunnnn) is that they didn’t announce the next bachelor!! We know it is down to the battle of the Ben’s but still, don’t leave a girl hanging! Especially after I stay up until all hours of the night before having to get up at 4:30AM for work the next morning…
GIRL. I was sooooo annoyed that they didn’t anounce the next Bachelor! That used to be the way they did it- and it made finale night way more exciting!! So lame that they didn’t even MENTION the next Bachelor, like, at ALL. Also kind of weird… Don’t they want to get us interested in the next season already?…

I’m so, so glad she chose Shawn, but have very little confidence in that being a long-term relationship. Hopefully they prove me wrong! I actually thought Nick was weirdly understanding and mature in the After the Rose interviews. Chris Harrison kept cutting him off.
Yeah, agreed. Nick was definitely more tolerable on finale night, but I think maybe he was trying extra hard to seem less douchey haha. Who knows. As long as he is officially done with all things Bachelor, I’ll be happy.

I’m so sad that the man quotes are done for a while! Last night was such a great finale. I’m SO glad Kaitlyn made the smart choice and chose Shawn, but it was such an awkward moment when she stopped Nick after his speech to send him home. I could tell when he walked up that she wasn’t going to choose him so I thought it was a little rude to let him pour his heart out and break down in tears, just to say goodbye to him. BUT at least he went home haha
Oh my gosh, it was SO awkward!! I was actually agreeing with Nick on everything he was saying regarding that and wondering WHY she didn’t just let him go before, instead of having to endure that humiliation? I never get when they do that… To a person they apparently loved? So strange.
