okay. so i went to the california state fair last weekend. smarty pants me, going on the HOTTEST day of the month. literally. i believe the high for the day was 106. one hundred and six. that is HOT. katie don’t like that. but, it was the only day my girlfriends could go, so i sucked it up and, well. went. and you know what? it was just as miserable as one might imagine, walking around on cement in 106 degree weather, BUT! yes, there is a but! it was worth it, for m’ladies. even though i’m pretty sure i suffered from heat stroke. and the hubby came and picked me up before i died. and hey! fun fact! in case you’re planning on ever going to the wonderful cali state fair: they do not, i repeat, DO NOT, give out free water. really. i just wanted a little tiny cup! that’s it! i’ll even fill it up with water from a drinking fountain!! pleeeease! but, no. no cups allowed. no free water allowed. so i had to miserably slurp from that dang drinking fountain. and, you know, that stuff. no matter how long you stand there, lapping up water like a cat (or dog, whichever you prefer) you just never ever feel satisfied, you know? and that, my friends, is the mystery of life.
okay. here’s some photos! yay! (and, oh dear. i just realized i’m wearing the same outfit as the last post. yikes. #bloggerproblems) please don’t judge. ;)
so that was fun. we mostly hit up the petting zoo (my friend’s darling little girl was with us!) and had some wine slushies, and then decided it was too hot to be outside any longer. such is life.
and i know i don’t say this enough (ha….ha!) but my husband is really the bestest. like, gosh darn it, i feel so lucky all the time! like, take today for instance. we went on our weekly shopping trips (he does it for his website) and he literally got paid by cvs to get me some olay body wash and face cleanser! seriously, this guy’s awesome. check it out here to see how to get it for free, too! (we even made a video, with his cutey face all over it!) i wanted to share with all of you, because i mean, it’s an amazing deal. and who doesn’t like body wash?! let’s be real.
you can thank me later. or, better yet. thank him.
enjoy the rest of your sunday! i’ll be spending it painting my nails and watching some olympics. duh.

State fairs are always a great place to go to people watch. Especially those in the South. But the petting zoo is always a highlight of the trip!
katie michelle
