The beach. Our happy place. We took our first family vacation as a party of 5 back in July of this summer, and it was so much better than I ever could have dreamed! It was just full of joy and peace and it was incredible! This was a vacation that almost didn’t happen, due to COVID and lockdowns, but we went at just the right time, after the county opened back up. It was beautiful and serene and the perfect place to “socially distance.” ;)
I’m so proud of how flexible the kids were- we totally went off schedule and stayed up later than normal, sleeping in new beds in a new house, and they just went with the flow. I’m almost shocked by how well they did, but it gives me so much confidence to do this again and again! :)
We stayed in a rental house in Sea Ranch, which is on the northern coast of California. It’s a place I went to many times with my family growing up, and it was so sweet and special to experience it with my own little family. My aunt, uncle and cousins also came up and stayed in a different house, and we had dinners together every night and spent time together, went hiking and to the beach and it was just such a beautiful wonderful experience! Definitely a new (old) tradition for us! For those curious, we stayed in the Quail View house- it was right down the street from Shell Beach (our fave!) and was PERFECT for us! Highly recommend! We loved that we could just walk to and from the beach easily- no driving needed. Now, when can we go back?!

Looks like such a great trip- what cute pics and special memories! We got to go to San Diego last October and that was our last trip- and I’d give anything to go again! My 4 year old still talks about the beach, the waves, and sand all the time! (We live in Kansas :) )
I loooove San Diego! One of my favorite places. So beautiful! And so cute- Sophie is the same! Will not stop talking about going back to the beach! :)
