diaper bag: skip hop (here)
So today I’m sharing what’s in my diaper bag. Because I’m a mom and I think it’s fun to see what others have in their all-important life line while on the go, so I thought I’d share mine! It’s kind of fun being sneaky and looking in other people’s bags, no? ;)
Diapers.
Wipes. – I just recently got the Huggies Clutch ‘n Clean wipes since I’m a sucker for anything “on the go” or travel friendly. I love that they come in fun patterns, too. These are great for diaper changes, of course, but also any spills or messes that are made! And you can refill the cases, too! Love that!
Sophie le girafe teether/toy. Sam is obviously not teething yet, but he likes to play with it/hold it/suck on it.
Water bottle. This is key. I am still alwayssss thirsty (one of the side effects of pregnancy that has stuck!) and especially while nursing I seem to instantly get parched, so I must always have a water bottle on hand.
Snacks. I love Kind bars, and always have something similar in my bag. You just never know when mama will get hungry! I.E. ALL OF THE TIME. (Come back on Thursday for the Healthy Habits link up and a chance to win a box of Kind bars!)
Chapstick.
Sunglasses. This is my purse, too, so you know, I need the essentials for myself as well!
Pacifier.
Burp Cloth.
Swaddle blanket.
Nursing scarf.
Compact mirror.
Hand sanitizer. Très important.
Two extra outfits/onesies. – yes, two. I’ve learned from experience, sometimes one extra just isn’t enough.
Plastic bags. For dirty diapers or clothes. Yeah.
Changing mat. – I loooove that this diaper bag came with one and highly recommend to check that whatever diaper bag you get has one too.
What do you think? Did I leave anything important out?
If you decide to do a post like this, link me to it in the comments! I’d love to see what’s in your diaper bag!

That diaper bag is adorable! I’d carry it just for a purse!
Katie
Right?! That’s why I got it! :) I’m not a fan of diaper bags that actually look like diaper bags, you know?

Mine looks very similar! Water, chapstick and a snack are so important for me and a ton of clothes and a burp cloth and a toy for the babe (on top of the very obvious diapers/wipes)! I always make sure I have at least one set of PJs and pants as well as at least 2 onesies.
Katie
Yes, we always have jammies in there for him, too :)

Very timely post for me! I’ve just been thinking about what to pack in a diaper, but first I need to actually decide one! Ekk, three weeks to go and still no diaper bag. I need to get it together.
Katie
Ahhh I am SO excited for you!!!! :) It’s such a fun/scary/exciting/anxious time!! Can’t wait to see your little one.

You have the cutest diaper bag! Seriously- I want to carry that and I don’t even have a kid!!
Katie
haha thanks!! That was my number one priority in a diaper bag- that it look like a cute purse, and not like a diaper bag!

The only think I’d add is an extra shirt for momma and nursing pads. I have a spitter, so I can see her getting me pretty messy. Plus, you never know when you might leak. Luckily I haven’t needed it yet, but it’s there just in case. Oh and diaper cream.
Katie
We haven’t needed diaper cream yet, and I just always wear nursing pads. :) An extra shirt for mama is always a good idea!

I had my first ever Kind bar a little over a week ago (at a Color Run!) and oh. my. gosh. it was so good! Good choice, mama! ;)
Katie
I am pretty much addicted to Kind bars! Loooove them!

Hi! You should add an extra basic shirt for mama (major poop explosion while holding my son and I finished all my errands with the huge yellow stain on my side), a few bandaids just in case (can be used as tape in emergencies), and a tampon because you never actually known when you’ll get your first post pregnancy period (booooo). Happy Motherhood!
Katie
Ooh, yes, I do usually remember an extra shirt for me, too! ;) Good call on the tampon too! Thanks for the additions :)
