After yesterday’s post that was not-so-happy, I wanted to turn the mood around in these parts, and share my current favourite quote that I’ve been loving and leaning on lately. I wrote it in my little quote notebook- a collection of phrases and reminders that life really is a beautiful thing. It’s a place I can go to when I’m really feeling down or needing a little slice of joy. It’s full of verses and pretty words and my attempt at pretty writing. Ha! Anyway, I really recommend starting a little “motivational notebook” for yourself if you haven’t! It’s a nice little reference to have on hand in those times when all you need is something small. I hope you have an amazing start to your week!! :)
Do you have any go-to motivational phrases that you’ve been loving lately? Leave them in the comments! We could all use an extra boost this Monday!

“Keep your head up. Keep your heart strong.” I say this to myself daily!
Ahhh I love that!!

One Buddhist-influenced motivational tidbit I keep in my back pocket is, “Pain is inevitable. Suffering is a choice.” It reminds me that when I’m faced with hard times, I can CHOOSE to either move forward or wallow. The best choice is usually to move forward :)
And your writing is very pretty!

Oh, I love that so much!! YES, it’s all about the choices you make! You can CHOOSE happiness every day.

I have a notebook like that too! A friend gifted it to me when I was really struggling about a year ago or so. It is entitled “For the Moments You Feel Faint”. I call it my “Faint Book” for short. :) I mostly have psalms written in it. There are a few quotes too. One that I really like is, “God will always give you what you would have asked for if you knew everything He knows.” -Tim Keller. I don’t know if that is really motivational or not, I just like it.
Aww I love it! Your “faint book”- such a sweet gift from your friend! I have so many verses in mine, too! :) I really like that quote, too. So true!

Love this! I post Motivational messages every Monday if you want to stop by and link up sometime :)
Aw you do?! I’ll have to check it out!

No motivational quotes from me, but I just try to look at everything with a “glass half full” attitude, and I just try to think that when the bad things happen, they happen for a reason, most the time to teach us something :)Love that quote, and I love how you words “pretty” :) I think it’s a great way to look at them.
That is SUCH a good (and healthy!) attitude to have, girl! :)

I love this quote so true .
Me too, girl!

I have this qoute hanging on my calendar at work so I see it everyday!
“Worrying does not take away tomorrow’s troubles; it takes away today’s peace.” -unknown A good reminder! :) Hope you have a great week!
That’s so awesome!! I love it! :)

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.
Thomas A. Edison
Oh, that Edison. He was a smart one! ;)

I love this. There is nothing like a good quote or verse to help us through tough times or remind us of something we are forgetting! I don’t blame you for needing a pick me up! After reading your last post, I am so glad to hear you are okay! What a scary situation! I don’t like illegal fireworks either. It’s a stupid activity with cons that FAR OUTWEIGH the pros. On the 4th we were at our lake house and some idiot across the lake was playing with fireworks and caught the whole mountain side on fire and has now burned over 2,100 miles. So scary!
I’m glad you are okay, Katie and glad you are feeling better! Thanks for the inspiration!!
xo Ashley
Oh my gosh, that is SO SCARY. Ughhhh people should just not play with fire, the end. Period. Done. I’m so glad to hear that YOU’RE okay too, girl! <3

I have a quotes notebook too! I used to be much more into it when I was in college but still read through them and add to them when I need some motivation or find something good. Wish I had been able to catch up on blogs on Monday since I could have used this Monday motivation! :)
Aww well I hope you found it motivating today, too! :)

it probably isn’t motivational but one of my favorites is
“Live in the sunshine. Swim the sea. Drink the wild air.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
and this:
“No one is useless in this world, who lightens the burden of it for any one else.” – Charles Dickens
Love that Emerson quote. Such a good life motto! And Dickens is one of my very favourite authors ever.
