So we all know the holidays are a time of over-indulgence (or, at least more indulgence than usual), which is all fine and dandy (who doesn’t love cookies), but I think that makes the new year even sweeter and more exciting. There’s something about a fresh start and clean eating after the season of not-so-clean-eating that is the perfect way to go into a new year. And that’s exactly my plan. I’m partnering with Finish Line today to share three of my biggest pieces of motivation to live a healthy lifestyle.
1. FOR MYSELF… AND MY KIDS
Leading an active life is something that I am super passionate about, and for me personally, it’s just something that I love doing. Especially with the impending arrival of our third little one, being healthy and living my best lifestyle is important not only for ME (so I can be a happy, healthy person) but also for my babies, so they see the way I live and have a good role model to look up to! Plus, I want to be healthy for them, so I can (hopefully!) live a long healthy life and be around for quite some time. :) It’s not selfish AT ALL to want to take care of myself first. In fact, au contraire: it is VITAL. Gotta fill my tank before I can be expected to fill anyone else’s. A happy mama means a happy life! Something like that.
2. CUTE WORKOUT GEAR
Of course, a huge motivator for me to work out and be active, is a cute outfit and cute workout gear. ;) These Adidas UltraBOOST sneakers from Finish Line are seriously my favorite ones I’ve worn to date. They are SO ridiculously comfortable! Like walking on clouds! Zack has owned them for a while now, and is always telling me how comfortable they are, but I’d never experienced it for myself. I literally never want to take them off. Everyone definitely needs these. No joke. They’re great for working out in, or when you just need some cute sneakers to add to any outfit. They come in a ton of cute colors, too- of course I had to choose the pink ones. #predictable
3. FOR THE LOVE
And another reason to eat healthy and stay active? Simple. Because I enjoy it! I feel better when I’m fueling my body with the proper nutrients (plus, I honestly just really love healthy food! It’s delicious- well, most of it!) and I really love a good sweat session. When those endorphins start flowing, and the adrenaline pumps, and the sweat starts dripping, I am ALL IN. I live for that type of workout. It’s so good for the soul. And, ya know, added bonus: It’s good for the body too. ;)
What’s your biggest motivation to work out and eat well?

My biggest motivation to work out and eat well is how amazing I feel when I do it!! Any time I let myself slip and eat junk and sit around all day, I pay for it with awful stomach pain and achy joints that last for weeks. The best I’ve ever felt in my entire life was when I was working out EVERY day and eating a whole food, plant-based diet. The plant-based diet has continued to work wonders for me, but I really need to get moving too! Just reading this post motivated me to get exercising! I also plan to have kids soon (God willing) and want to be at my best health possible to conceive and during my pregnancy (and afterward!). I want my kids to be as healthy as possible too!

YES I agree!! When I treat my body right and nourish it properly, I FEEL the best from the inside out! So simple and makes so much sense, right?!
