PEOPLE Magazine Oscars Double Issue, or How I Spent My Sunday Evening

So, the Oscars came and went, and now finally what I've been waiting for is here: the PEOPLE Magazine 2013 Oscars double issue! I just got back from a little trip to Target (my fave, duh) and can you believe I actually restrained myself from buying anything other than this magazine, juice and some eggs? Because I did. That's all I got from Target. Let that sink in for a second. I feel like I deserve a round of applause for that? I mean, if that ain't self-control, I don't know what is.

Okay. So. Let's get right to the issue, shall we? If you saw my first Oscars post, you'll remember that I was hoping to see Anne Hathaway on the cover, and guess what? She's there! Along with Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lawrence, Charlize Theron, Quvenzhane Wallis (say that 3 times fast), and miss Adele. Now, as you know from my Oscar recap, the two Jennifers got my vote for best dressed, so I am pleased as a peach (is that a saying?) to see them both on the cover! And before I saw what Anne was wearing at the Oscars, I totally wanted her on the cover, but now I'm just like "ehh" since I was REALLY not a fan of that nipple-apron-dress-thing she had going on. Just keepin' it real here. Now, Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Lawrence both looked amazing.

{snuggling up with a cuppa tea and my magazine}

In the PEOPLE Magazine Oscars issue, there's an entire pull-out page devoted to the most gorgeous gowns, and both my girls are on there! Jennifer Lawrence got "Best Brocade" which I didn't even notice on TV, but yes, her dress has a beatufiul brocade design, making me like it even more. Jennifer Aniston got "Best Crimson," which, again, I agree. Duh. Also, Amy Adams got "Best Tulle," which I also thought was appropriate. I am a sucker for tulle. Love the stuff. And I love Amy Adams.

{it got juicy}

The issue also has a fun "Hit or Miss?" article, with 56% of whoever they polled agreeing with me on the Anne Hathaway catastrophe, and "hating it." I think it should have been more than 56%, but whatever. There's a "Behind the Gowns" spread that I spent a good while pouring over.  Loved reading about the gorgeous gowns and who made them, plus it was fun to get a closer look that wasn't possible by just watching the show. This issue covers everything Oscars, and I loved it. The hair, the makeup, the dresses, the jewelry, the "Sexiest Men Alive." It's all here, you guys. I'd have to give this issue a big ole' two thumbs up, and can I already say I'm excited for next year's? Because I am. There, I said it. Maybe next year I'll be there! You never know. Dream big, is what I say.
