Friday's Letters #24: Christmas Recap Edition!

Dear Christmas Eve, spending time at my aunt and uncle's house, eating delicious food, taking turns opening presents (my favorite way to do it, personally) and being silly with my cousins was so fun.  My other brother and sister-in-law were missed, but!  They just drove into town today, so!  I get to see them plus all the same people plus some more on Saturday for our game day/ 2nd Christmas/ ugly sweater party, woo!!

{my parent's dog really likes Zack}

{whoa! the men in the kitchen!}

{Santa got me the adorable j. crew socks I wanted!!!)

{Mum got Dad a ukelele!}

{hat party}

{notice the cute tag- also made by my mom!}

Dear Christmas morning, stockings were opened (I think that's my favorite part- Santa had a lot of fun this year!) and a big yummy breakfast of blueberry pancakes and sausage and eggs was devoured, then presents!  We all did real good this year.  One of the most special presents, that I will cherish forever and ever, is the pretty soft pink throw that my mom knit for me!  It's my new favorite blanket.  Also, Zack got me Gone With the Wind on dvd!  Now he has no excuse to not watch it with me! ;)  The best part, though, of all of this is definitely that we got to be together.  There's nothing better, is there?

Dear Christmas evening, we went to the in-laws' for more partying!  Yummy food, good drinks, amazing dessert (my mom-in-law makes the BEST cheesecake, and this is coming from a person who does NOT like cheesecake), and the infamous dollar search.  It's a tradition where they hide a dollar somewhere in the tree and then there's a mad rush to see who can find it.  Let me tell you, this one took a while, and also let me tell you, Zack won for the second year in a row.  He said his pride was on the line, in case you were wondering his motivation. ;)  And, for the record, my mother-in-law knows me very well.  Chapter books in French, a little eiffel tower snow globe, workout clothes, e.l.f. makeup, Essie nail polish, oh my!  I was spoiled, that's for sure!  This was the perfect ending to a hectic few days, and now we have a bit of a reprieve until more partying commences!  This weekend is chock full of fun, and I cannot wait!

I know I say it every year, but here goes.  Best.  Christmas.  Ever.

xo
